Percival
(William) wrote that his new PT Cruiser didn’t receive the 60,000 mile check up
before he purchased it and Alfredo (Fredo) wrote that he just had his new
Pirius in for the 5,000 (I just knew he was one of the rich ones) and he had
Winter Blades that don’t freeze put on.
These must be the ones they dunk in anti-freeze and charge you triple
for? Heck, I guess he can afford it.
The above
very interesting events reminded me that I brought my Subaru outback (NH Snow
Car) in for its 50,000 mile checkup last Friday. Upon picking it up the service advisor
informed me that this was the Second Time I had brought it in for the 50,000
mile checkup and since that was the case they only did an oil change!
Now this
was bad enough news to hear but there were at least 12 people within hearing
distance! Naturally they all heard this
and needless to say they were all staring at the old man (ME). At least he didn’t yell my name, or did he?
Now, what
on earth does one do at this point? What
does one say in this situation? Does one
admit senility? Does one stand and fight
by arguing that the dealer’s records must be faulty? Or does one mumble and stick his head between
his legs and hobble as quietly and quickly that is possible at 74 and get the
H_____ out of there?
Hey, I
spent over 10 years in the Marine Corps and nothing scares me………..sure big
mouth…….. You know what I did don’t you?
Two
mistakes in one day! Perhaps tomorrow
will be better?
Have a
great day,
Hugh
