My Job!

December 21, 2007 / by htargett

As a franchise broker I talk to people from all walks of life, all ages 18up, and from anywhere in the United States.  Some have lost a job/or think they might and are checking out their alternatives, some just think it would be ___________to own their own business, and some are embarrassed they inquired because they don’t really have any interest.

As a “sifter” I attempt to talk to them all (many don’t speak English very well) and give them a glimmer of the multitude of opportunities that exist if someone has as little as $20,000 to start a business using the franchise model.  I work for my franchisors and am paid by them not by my clients.

There are, at the moment, over 2,200 franchise concepts out there and I represent over 600 of them.  I attempt to match the money, the geography, the skill set, the hopes, added with a little realism in order to present 3 to 5 of my 600 concepts to my client for their consideration and for them to find out more about if that is their desire.  At their behest I introduce the franchisor to my client and together they find if a fit exists.

96% of franchise businesses started remains in business 5 years down the road.  Only 17% of non-franchised businesses remain in business 5 years.  Just might be a reason to grab a franchise.

I send them to my web site www.almostdid.com where they can learn more about franchising and begin to establish a relationship between them and me.

Please send anyone you might know who is contemplating a franchise to visit my site.

How about that for a “free” commercial?

Have a great day!

Hugh

I often wondered why a restaurant franchise never came to my small (1500) farming town. Finally, a Subway popped up, and is doing very well (I think). We could still use a BK or MacD. My future?[ROLLEYES]

Not good unless you have an interstate or convince your neighbors to have more babies since 3,000 souls seems to be near the minimum![SMILE]
